The people who are just using ai as the finished product is dumb. When i first started drawing digitally I would just straight up trace what I couldn’t do well yet like hands just to finish the drawing. But as time went on I gained the ability to draw hands. It’s similar for backgrounds now. I’m just not good at drawing backgrounds yet and drawing a complicated gothic city scape can take forever even if you’re good at it. Nowadays instead of tracing a cityscape to stick in a drawing that doesn’t even need a background I can blockout the skyline, plug it into this cool A.I. I found that touches up drawings, composite the best options and correct and weirdness, bada bing bada boom I have a finished drawing that’s still my own work. That’s how I think A.I. will and should be used. Cutting corners. Rough drafting, brainstorming, the stuff that gets thrown out anyways.
