Something very meaningful to me about that experiment where that guy tricked people into choosing the AI Jackson Pollock painting and that is how arbitrary crticism of AI art can be. When people find out something is AI they force themselves to nitpick it and point out things bad in it and conclude it's soulless, and most of the time that criticism is arbitrary and just predicated on how it's AI so it has to suck and I can't like it. I remember one of those "song in the style of x band" videos that I really liked, it had 1 person doing all the drums, bass, guitar, and the vocals while impersonaring the original band really damn well. Someone took that video and ran the vocals through AI to make the vocals seem more convincing, keep in mind only the vocals are changed. Someone posted that AI version into the band's subreddit and the most highly upvoted comment was a person talking about how soulless the song was and how generic the composition sounded and how you can tell it's made by AI. Complete bullshit since everything was made by a human except the vocals which were put through AI without the original creator knowing, the redditor just thought its all AI so they had to conclude it sucked and was valueless. Finding out how people's biases worked against AI made me realize just how arbitrary the criticism they levy against it is
