Great video, I've been falling into this rabbit hole for a while now and while I'm really getting tired of all the outrage in general I'm still listening to the vast majority of coherent arguments on the topic (the most coherent arguments I hear come from artists and/or AI detractors, the vast majority of AI supporters have been on a total Crypto-bro/NFT-bro mindset where if you don't agree with them you're "holding humanity back") Just let me add one more item to the counter-argument of "AI gets inspiration just as artists do": The AI models generate images based on probability, which is based on what they've been trained on they try to predict what the prompt corresponds to. The slightly more specific explanation is that when trained they are being passed along with the image tags of what is on the image, then it deconstructs it until all it has is noise and it learns what that noise should supposed to be, so when someone passes a prompt it tries to predict the noise corresponding to the input words and re-constructs the resulting image (there is a video by computerphile that explains this just perfect, regardless of your stance on AIs I think it is a must watch to understand better what is going on). So yeah it's not even remotely close, and I'm really tired of hearing the "artists reference other artists works so it does the same" argument
