Pollock's paintings evoke a very specific and intended emotion, frustrating and assaulting and all wound together in a way that I had felt before ever seeing one of them, and still seeing them is the only time I have ever felt that emotion that I had myself represented in any medium. Art is about conveying something unspeakable, and not everything you don't understand is as valueless as a banana taped to a wall.
