I've thought about this topic quite a bit. I've had conversations with chat GPT about this, and it seems convinced that there'd still be jobs in the arts, caregiving, psychology, and customer service. It also discusses UBI, which is redistributed wealth, AKA socialism. The arts seems pointless if AI can make a movie in seconds with no investment in lights, cameras, actors, speciale effects, directors, or producers; if music can be composed in seconds that sounds identical to the musician of your choosing; if a painting can be made in seconds, to look like your favorite artist. It says that the end product isn't as rewarding as making it though. And as an illustrator, I can attest to enjoying the creative process, but who's going to pay for my work if an AI can make it in 5 seconds? Caregiving... sure, that can be filled with people... until it isn't. An AI psychiatrist isn't without the realm of possibility. It'd be able to keep all sorts of minutia in detail about each patient its seen, while outliving any human psychiatrist, and keep every nuance of psychology as a study and practice within its working memory at all times. Furthermore, it'd be able to study humans from a third person perspective, leading to greater objective observations. I don't find its responses reasuring and it glosses over the pertinent details. This video, too, isn't reasuring. People want AI to be like The Jetsons. They want it to take out the garbage, to cook clean, to do the laundry, fold it and put it away. They might want it to run an errand or two, maybe to check the mail and maybe run to the store for perrishables that can't be bought online. What they don't want is a situation where it takes your job away from you.
