An interesting thing to add to your observation/inspiration note about Firefly to Star Wars: star wars is a very surface level observation that AI would pick up, and Firefly was inspired by a multitude of sources. One that the younger crowd might not pick up is the sitcom Cheers. Mal and Inara's relationship dynamic is influenced by Sam Malone and Diane Chambers, Jayne has a gun named Vera (a reference to the running gag of Norm Peterson's wife you never see), and much of the comedic character writing is clearly inspired by it. This is partially a comment to let people know if you like Firefly, you might want to watch Cheers and see another source of inspiration behind the show, and partially a comment to reaffirm several points you made: It's hard for people to pick up on what things artists draw from, and it's impossible for AI to do this. Star Wars + Spaghetti Western + Cheers will only give you Firefly because Joss Whedon was the artist that loved those things enough to create something new. Telling that to a robot will give you a cowboy bartender with a light saber striking one of 5 poses while wearing a leather waistcoat that has too many buttons.
