Copyright is the wrong focus for the problem of generative A.I. The reason why copyright laws don't seem to make sense in the context of generative A.I. is because the A.I. trancends the whole concept of copyright. The problem is not that some artwork is being used indirectly without giving credit to it. The problem is that generative A.I. is so good at being creative that it seriously demotivates many humans (not all) from ever trying to be creative again.
