All those suggestions are great and need to happen regardless of AI. But it's sad to see how much the senator fell for the hype. If text-averager bots were all that close to replacing humans, you'd think they would already be turning profits instead of having to burn investor money to even keep going.
Real superhuman AI will come some day I'm sure, but it will come by actually figuring out how intelligence works. Not by using even more of our private text messages as training data for inefficient bots that just guess an output based on what they've seen before. Which is what these "revolutionary" companies are hyping up.
The most urgent thing politicians need to do, is to make sure billionaires will be personally held liable (fined every last cent they own) when the bubble they are inflating pops. Oops, but the current president is a billionaire, still actively trying to keep even the older cryptocurrency bubble going.
