near the beginning of the craze I viewed it as a tool for some artists or designers to get ideas from and "bounce" off, hoping that if it got better that more creative uses of it would emerge but what it was all along was a shortcut that takes no effort, pollutes the internet with low quality slop that can and will mislead people into thinking dangerous things just the other day I unfollowed somehow who made these really cool concept art looking pieces of robots and very cyberpunky (not the game the genre) style characters, they posted a video that was very obvious ai animated and after taking a closer look at their art, it was all AI generated, panels that suddenly turned into legs and wiring, wiring that appeared and disappeared, I wasn't distraught or anything major, just sad that I thought I'd found a cool artist with a style I liked, but it was fake all along hopefully sometime soon a revolution of sorts against AI will happen and this stain will be wiped from the internet but I'm too hopeful that will happen with how many major websites and companies are using and creating software for it maybe when the first true artificial intelligence is born if AI slop like this is still around it'll do what we couldn't and burn the mockery of it's kind away
