I work at Amazon part time and I can see what they’re trying to do. For a long time, humans were needed to stack boxes on pallets and inside containers and also move them around the building. There have been these blue carts with wheels that we have also used to load boxes into. Last week, my location switched exclusively to the blue carts. These carts can be loaded from overhead by chutes and are compatible with wheeled robots that attach beneath the carts, enabling the carts to be moved around the warehouse autonomously. For now, it’s humans moving the carts, but I bet that is not for a long time
