I have a unique vantage point on this as I work in a company that helps other large companies adopt AI. I have seen most of these adoption efforts fail, because people who work on them are incompetent. These initiative are generally started by enthusiastic people within the company who don't understand the intricacies. They make bad decisions, write low quality code, and don't evaluate their AI properly before rolling it out.
Andrew Ng's Deep Learning course and enthusiasm alone do not replace years of experience needed to pull this off.
