The idea that ai can only operate by "stealing artists work" is semi disingenuous. It is entirely possible to have ai trained on only public domain art, and art approved by artists. Now most ai art apps these days are indeed trained on artists that didnt approve of their art being used to train ai, and there really isnt a "public domain trained ai" quite yet, the closest we have is Adobe Firefly but its entirely within realm of possibility, and any regulations regarding the use of training an ai on artists work is just kicking the can down the road because eventually all modern works will one day be in the public domain.
Now most of the prompters being self righteous is pretty lame, prompting shouldn't be compared to human made art, they are entirely different mediums. More respect should be given to an actual artist, thats a given. I think humility would go a long way for some of these prompters.
