I don't think I'm the kind of disabled artist you or the tech redditers are talking about- but I suffer from chronic pain and some joint hypermobility that can make doing any art for a long period of time uncomfortable or painful at times.
Ai art is NOT helping me. Or any other disabled folk out there.
Would it be nice to be able to work on a piece for more than 2-3 hours at a time without risk of pain? Yeah, it would. But this is *my art*.
And it's never about getting a *product* out in the first place! The process is 99% of what I love so much about art! The end product is part of it too, but if you cut out the creation process, you lose everything that made it *art* in the first place.
And I have the luxury of being a hobby artist, so I can make whatever I want at whatever pace I want, so having one piece take several days is fine with me, as long as it was done with my hands.
I'd also like to be able to walk around for more than one or two hours at a time without risk of pain, but strangely you never see those tech redditers talking about ways to improve accessible disability healthcare 🤔
