I've just started out drawing, but before this I used AI, so here are my thoughts: Ironically it's much less stressful and taxing to draw than to use AI art (at least imo, HEAR ME OUT PLEASE). When I used AI to get an image, the amount of prompt correction I had to do was horrendous, and it became a headache to use generative AI (I mean seriously, Google Imagen follows my prompts best out of ALL the AI I have used and yet it draws a greatsword when I ask it to draw a glaive). Drawing it myself, however, doesn't give me a headache because I'm actually enjoying myself, and making what I WANT to make. Correction is much easier and more on-the-fly, allowing me to keep the good looking aspects I already had and correct what I don't like without affecting the rest of the drawing, so I don't feel as much frustration. Additionally, drawing it myself feels like a hobby or an activity I want to do, but writing a prompt for the AI feels like work - or to put it differently, drawing it feels like art, writing a prompt feels like a high school English class. XD In conclusion, for me the preference for drawing over AI comes down to how much fun I'm having drawing vs how frustrated I'm getting when using an AI. (Yes I yapped for this long don't question me)
