Seems more like the fella who runs a custom software company tried to make his own AI and messed up.
It's not a story if a company builds a product that doesn't work as intended.
Sounds more like trying to recoup some losses with a little air time and alarmism.
Also, 2:28 did this guy hook his AI up to his company emails for data mining purposes? Cause that would be dumb. Or, the AI lied/hallucinated about having access to emails, which is a very known problem.
How is the blackmail story anything more than an unreleased AI model that still hallucinates?
