There was even a news story about how an Indian scammer used AI to clone the voice of the victim’s daughter and then called the victim demanding a ransom while claiming that they had kidnapped their daughter. They of course had the AI mimicking the daughter’s voice and begging for help in a extremely convincing way however the scam was exposed when the real daughter texted the victim about something and was then asked about if they were okay. They were really confused about the scam call and the real daughter pretty much just in time exposed the scam to their mother who was the victim! :)
