I'm a 22yo junior DevOps Engineer. I actually barely used AI before I got my job half a year ago,. I use it constantly now, but I use it much differently than my coworkers. I never give it access to run anything or directly edit any file. Most of the time I don't even give it the full context of what I'm trying to make. I come to it with specific requests for usually smaller tasks, as well as giving it chunks of what I made to ask it to go over it and find errors in it. I've been so efficient that I've spent half of my time on days I worked from home just watching Netflix, while my boss and the rest of my team think I'm one of the most diligent workers in the department. The thing is I could do everything I've done so far without AI, it would just take me longer, but I never rely on it to do something I have 0 knowledge about. Only stuff that I'll be able to understand.
