Okay, feel free to hate me, but let’s please at least have a conversation about it first. What’s… wrong with ai art? Yes, I’m aware I’m very uneducated on the topic, but that’s why I’m here. But… what’s actually wrong with it? Yes, I agree that doing it with words isn’t the same as with a pencil, but I feel like the same could be said about digital art to some degree. It’s mostly just different from what we’re used to. And is it lower quality? Absolutely. But (from my perspective) it’s like a beginning artist. It doesn’t know what the rules are until it’s broken some. And I feel like many people do studies on specific styles or artists, but how do you do that without actually looking at their art? I think of it as a collage; is that any less art because it’s quite literally made from things made by different people? Does NIKE have any right to my art because I used a small scrap of one of their magazines? And this is coming from the perspective of an artist. Granted, I don’t draw at a very high quality, or very often anymore, but as a (in my opinion) rather casual poet, I wouldn’t feel threatened by ai poetry. It’s just… different. Even if it was stealing/inspired by my stuff. AP music theory, we did a very similar thing with matching styles. So… how is that different. Please keep it civil down there, we’re all adults. And if you’re not and using that as an excuse… ok, I guess.
