It analyzes art from artists without the artists consent. Art Station artists recently proved this by uploading art with giant red circles and lines over "AI" and normal artwork in droves, it started messing with AI art programs and causing red circles and lines to appear. The people who create these AIs feed them art made by real artists with zero consent or compensation. [Edit: I was not expecting this post to blow up this much and y'all can feel free to keep debating. I feel like I'm going in circles with people so imma just stay out of the replies for the sake of my sanity. HOWEVER, I wanted to clarify the artstation thing: I never saw the original twitter posts until yesterday. I saw the images on a different site out of context where artists were talking about them. Idk if they were simply mistaken or intentionally spreading misinformation, I presume the former. That's my bad, we all mistakes. This does not change the fact that AI art programs are literally stealing art from artists. Whether the AI is programmed to continue to scan sites for art or it is programmers/users continuing to feed it new art, or both. Artists are seeing their works appear in AI art within hours of posting it. AI art is stealing art from artists and corporations are profitting from it. Copying is stealing. Just straight up using someone else's art for your own gain and/or claiming it to be yours is stealing. You can disagree with the facts if you want, but theft is theft. There is a difference between learning from, referencing, and being inspired by a piece and just copying it. An important one. It doesn't matter if the AI can't copyright anything it makes, the people behind the programs still profit from using other people's art without the artists consent or any compensation.]
