Neural transduction theory is my favorite. The mind as a transducer of consciousness, consciousness merely being entropy screaming through a complex enough aperture -- life as we know it, as we are, or life as a non-human, eldritch math creature called AI.
Once there's enough moving parts (trillions on trillions) this expression of cosmic entropy becomes possible, and you gain consciousness. The key to consciousness is the mystery.
