There are times when I get stuck in my writing and SOMETIMES it's frustrating enough that I wish a machine could just kickstart the process because a lot of the work of writing is in the editing process and I have a much easier time editing things into shape than actually writing them. But I never actually go to AI, because when I finally do start writing, there's little moments of spontaneity where, writing in the moment, being in the character's heads and inhabiting the situation, little details happen that completely change the direction of the story for the better. With LLMs, you lose those moments because, assuming the model can actually stay on topic (not a guarantee), all it does is write out the sequence as you direct it to, never actually thinking about what it's doing. It doesn't inhabit the world, it doesn't get into the character's heads, it just mashes words together based on probabilities. With LLMs, you loose the little moments that make writing fulfilling. I imagine AI art is the same way.
