Because when AI does more, there will be more comforts available. Just like the industrial revolution that allows you to mass produce clothes and that's why clothes are thousands of times cheaper now.
And since AI has so much potential, there's a real chance that governments will be able to afford UBI for everyone which means that even if those people don't work in new jobs that don't exist now (which I think many of them will), even if they don't have a traditional job they will still have access to wealth. So yeah, as technology advances it exactly makes us into pampered princesses compared to previous generations. Look at history.
