Very insightfuI, although I think this analysis misses one crucial point: It assumes that costs of goods and services are mostly dependent on underlying labor costs. Since the 70s large US companies have developed and employed cost cutting strategies and technologies continuously but we haven't always seen this translate to lower prices (there are some notable exceptions, like electronics, but this is an exception and not the rule).
As an example the fast food downsizing craze of the 90s engineered by McKinsey did not lead to lower prices for consumers, it only lead to both worse customer experience and worse working conditions as restaurants cut staff while meeting the same demand.
The profit motive can't be ignored—It has no regard for good or bad, and definitely no regard for social good, that is entirely out of scope. Nothing is preventing a large company from pocketing the labor cost savings as profits, and with most major sectors being monopolies, duopolies, or platforms, they are more likely to implement schemes like dynamic pricing using AI to extract as much money as possible instead of using AI to lower prices.
Hence, I am specially skeptical when figured like Marc Andresseen, Elon Musk, or Sam Altman sell this fantasy of lower costs and deflation... It works only if you ignore the reality of how corporations operate. At the end of the day, that is their job, to sell you on a vision of the future that is detached from present reality, because the present reality does not sell. The savings won't trickle down.
