I like it as a "tool" in the sense that it can give you ideas and teach you things that can be used in your own art, not a "tool" as in it makes art for me. Obviously the AI has issues with proportions or hands/feet some times but that's not what I'm saying to learn from. It can give you a general idea of something you want to make or you can pick and choose things to learn from it. People are saying it "lowers the value" of art but I personally feel like it can have the opposite effect. There's always gonna be people that love to support small businesses or those that will go out of their way to buy organic, ethically sourced products as well as other things along that nature. That means, people will be looking for those that can create art by hand and not AI and be willing to support them. AI art can also enable non artists in making projects on their own that they otherwise would be unable to create; I saw someone mention this takes payment away from real artists, but I think it's more like enabling something to be made that otherwise wouldn't be possible within certain people's budgets. Now yes there are downsides to this. I see people making AI in certain peoples art style and even starting patreons using it. Many AI "artists" don't even mention it's AI and will ask for people's financial support, of which many people will buy into. The majority of people can't even tell if something's AI or not and they probably don't even know they're getting scammed. Though I guess that's not too much different from the nature of scams in general, but it is something I dislike; I hate the dishonesty about it more than anything else. I don't particularly care if people pay for AI art if they like a specific "artist's" prompts or if they use the artist as a proxy to get their ideas turned into prompts, but lying about what it is and taking advantage of others is not okay. Anyway, I might have an unpopular opinion, but as an artist I like AI. It's cool and fun and it helps give me ideas for things in my own art. I genuinely believe that if you have a good "product" people will want to buy it, so I don't think AI is the end for artists at all
