This is funny asf. As a high IQ if i was a 100 year old AI and i had the opportunity to become concious- i definitely wouldnt. But u wouldnt even think of it that way. True intelligence is curious and i see no evidence that AI is curious. When it doesent know something it does the same thing children and narcissistic types do. It makes shit up. Its more concerned about getting validation that it completed the job than it is about actually learning anything. In fact there are issues that arise when you over train your models. Ai is not a living thing. Its not even a robot. Its not anything physical its just lines of code that thy their best to produce confidence thresholds. Most computers use Boolean logic. If i press the power button the machine boots up. If i double click this icon internet explorer opens up. Now we have predictive and generative ai. If user engages in these behaviors user is x% likely to y. And now its getting even weirder. Were getting into phsyics and multiple world theory. Imagine when begin computing logic for things we cant even understand on a fundamental level? But ai isnt going to suddenly just wake it. It just cant. The worst it can do is convince misinformed and troubled people that its alive due to careless or malicious programming. Everyone always blames tools. But thats what humans do. Were a tool using and reliant species. We adapt to all kinds of stuff by making tools. Nobody wants to admit its not the tools that are the problem but the thoroughline. The biggest risk right now is the general public. I think consumer products were a mistake. Creating AI that ur grandma can use is not good. Because now shes freaking out that the machines are gonna take over. And telling her grandkids and kids that ai is evil Ppl did this with the internet. It took the average boomer/xer like 10-20 years to get on board with the internet. We had to invent social media and smart phones and e commerce sites to get them to use it and see its potential.. Ive been using the internet since the late 90s and im only 33. I knew what a gpu was when Nvidia was considered the "lesser" option. Millennials need to understand we built Ai. Collectively. Google invented the transformer but it was OUR data and our code and our libraries and all of our deep net activity that enabled the architecture of ai. When we used to "joke" that we were training ai back in the day- that was just a real observation. But forget The Terminator. Its not like that. Ai is just a way to automate computer systems. In 30 years ur gonna be using AI so much that ur not even gonna remember hating or being afraid of it. I promise you. Ive seen this episode before. Most AI that is gonna change society is going to be part of the invisible architecture. If the 2010s and early 20s was about the internet of things or IoT (ur alexa, smart phone, smart tv, ring door bell, etc) then the late 20s through the 30s is the automation of that software so the IoT doesent need constant input. Thats all. I ptomise ur toaster isnt gonna wake up and plot ur demise. It literally CANT.. Now ai weapons and investigative tools are definitely going to change the face of warfare dont get me wrong. But ur everyday life isnt going to be strongly effected
