Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) has really made the biggest difference in AI model improvement in the last year. It allows access to all kinds of information and database by the model. This and training on prompts or having the models generate their own prompts to improve cognitive ability to fix a problem. In effect, the model can be trained not just data, but how to be an adaptive prompt engineer. It isn't just the white-collar jobs that will be affected but blue collar as well because there have been huge strides in robotics building on cognitive AI but now going to something VLAM or Vision Language Action Models. These models will actually train AI models to convert what they see in video (like visual perception) to motor commands. This will be the next big wave of AI advancement.
