If chat GPT could access LexusLaw or WestLaw, this would be a totally different case. Chat's data base doesn't have access to a Law library probably for liability reasons like this. Chat skimmed enough cases documents to BS it's way though a rough outline, and used the fake cases as a placeholder. The Lawyers didn't have a case from the start and tried to cheat and see if Chat could do the heavy lifting, tried to phone the case in... So they should be sanctioned. but future use of AI will be tested and legally pass.
