Hi, I am a disabled artist. I enjoy using a lot of different mediums to create things, from piano and writing, to digital and traditional drawing. I started out drawing "Twilight Sparkle" from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with traditional means when I was 12 years old. Horses/Equines are some of the hardest things to draw in the art world. It took me 2 weeks of practice before I started getting the "hang of it". That's a lot of time, a lot of paper, a lot of eraser scraps/pencils, and dedication/determination being used on silly colorful ponies from a "kid's cartoon". And especially for a little preteen in school. At 23 years old, I now mainly work away on pieces digitally with my tablet. A lot of my pieces take me a lot of time to produce. From both mentally/emotionally needing to do other things than drawing. To physically needing to do other things than drawing. But with all that time spent, each piece I craft. I improve the things I create, and only through each time I make something. I try different techniques and skills, to other ideas and even mediums, to express what I wish the outside world to know or even have. AI Art, does not make my life "easier". It actually makes it harder. I use Pinterest to gather information and ideas. Every time AI Art comes across my feed, it not only floods it with copy-paste of the "idea" the AI Artist had. The pieces themselves are always horrifically disfigured and legitimately nauseating to look at and or study. I've drawn human hands to paws, hills to trees, wheels to buildings, etc. I've studied these things for hours, passionately sank time into understanding these things for the shapes and pieces of information they are. The disfigurations are forms of poison for those pieces of information I can gather. They are nothing of their reality and the realities they can proclaim they'll become. The art that is stolen and produced by AI is nothing more than the lasso tool used to cut and paste from the pictures it can use, onto a digital canvas. With the stitching being the smudge and blur tool. What you proclaim to love is destroyed when you disfigure the artist's pieces. You kidnapped an identity, dissembled their body, stitched the stolen pieces together, and then had the audacity to call it "yours". You may very well had made Frankenstein out of your loved-ones', and thought it was okay for one reason or another. Just because it's "fast" and "easy", does not dismiss you wasted away every bit of the time you once took to be amongst it and admire it. AI Art is the theft and dismissal of compassion, time, practice, ambition, and funnily, art itself. Your grief will not see a day it outweighs the sin of the theft of one's own time and compassions. The greed and envy you fuel through these ideologies of creations, is a hungry beast that cannot be sated till you truly succeed to learn by flying. To create, is to be free. Imagination, is an infinite source unlike reality, where everything is bound to be known. It does not make it easier for anyone else, including the disabled, to steal art. It loses the point. - from, a disabled artist outweighed by mental disabilities and some physical disabilities.
