We may be able to facilitate the emergence of an intelligence far greater than our own, but without pain and pleasure, you never get emotion. Any AI literary effort may be profound, but it will never touch our emotions the way a great writer, poet, or musician does. An AI can only compose the emotions of previous human writing into a product it feels would be appealing to us.
