It's interestng that early evidence of what we now call AI surfaced with IBM Deep Blue (chess) and IBM Watson (Jeopardy). also, AI depends not just on some kind of cloud, but on computers able to process information very fast. actually some few mainframes today have AI built in (eg. Z17) without the need to access other devices that store or process data.
