AI art can be useful if used for private and non commercial use. example - I want 1000 medieval men and women to populate my DnD game and not pay an arm and a leg to have an artist draw all of that. ESPECIALLY if I then ask for all of them to be in a specific style or theme. That's just not feasible.
BUT! If I want my own character that I will be interacting with a lot, it would not be out of budget to hire an artist to draw my own character for me. When I want to make sure to get the details just right.
