As a programmer here watching the development of chat gpt. They should have payed the 20$ a month for the access to chat gpt-4. Chat GPT 3 is far inferior. Still, the website does warn you many times that it does not have access to the internet, and that it is not a legal expert and should not be used as one. It also mentions that it can invent things.
The thing is that it's just a powerfull neural network trained on 580gb of internet data from before 2021. Mostly from books and wiki's. All it's responce are it generating text based on it's training. it's not actually googling or looking up information. Personally i find it supper dumb but I think they gave 4 the ability to look stuff up or are going too. It as already passed a few exams thanks to the ability to analyze images.
