If you think about it, this follows our evolutionary trajectory exactly. We are the apex predator because we are the smartest. Our weaknesses now are:
1. We rely on carbon based resources.
2. We rely on physical bodies that eventually die.
3. We need to breathe oxygen.
4. Our bodies are fragile
5. We can only achieve a certain level of intelligence and storage of information.
6. We can’t go into environments that are too cold, hot etc.
Machines don’t need the world which we have destroyed. They are our replacements in the evolutionary chain.
If you believe in the judeo-Christian religious principles it’s actually the same. That would take me a very long paragraph to explain but AI is the culmination of our hubris, pride, greed and self-worship. Like the God who created us, we are made in his image and are creators ourselves. Except we sin, and are imperfect, and without our focus on him, we create objects of destruction. We can’t help ourselves it’s in our nature.
