The key issue with AI is that it takes control AWAY from artists, I understand the desire to save time, that's why people make custom brushes for things like stippling and hatching, but the artist still has a strong level of control there. AI doesn't, its just creating an image, it's like the difference between just screenshotting from a recording and deliberately taking a photograph. I've investigated AI tools and I can say the main issue, besides the origin of the training data, is the lack of bespoke control.
