This is actually the same problem with CGI and practical effect. Most viewers can't even tell them just by watching. They tent to love a scene until find out it was CGI. Or just assume a scene was CGI while it actually practical.
I don't know about soul in art but a normal viewer would either didn't realize the art was AI or they just think a real art was AI. It actually reach the point of people start thinking a real footage of a man playing with a tiger was AI generated.
