To the people that say the algorithm gets "inspired" you are wrong... The algorithm literally just makes a collage of the images it "learnt" (saved as numerical values in the neurons of the artificial neural network). It literally is an interpolating machine, it can only interpolate between datapoints given. It has no consciousness, it cannot get "inspired". Add just one picture of a strawberry to the training data, the AI will not be able to recreate it, show just one image of a strawberry to a human, they will be able to copy it, change it or use it as base for something new. The algorithm is a semi smart and very fast copy/paste algorithm.
