Skill is not the same as Intelligence. With enough data, AI should be enough to acquire narrow Skills, even in their current architecture. However, where it comes to actual intelligence (adaptability, creativity, precise rationality), humans will continue to do the heavy lifting, unless there's a major breakthrough in model architecture.
If people are investing expecting AGI, then it's a bubble. But the people investing with realistic expectations of usefulness, could see a return. The trick is being aware of current limitations. You need tons of quality data, and you want specialized models aimed at narrow tasks.
