Auto pilot is a help devIce to the drIver just like cruse control, its not there to drive the car. If the driver has there foot on pedal it will over ride autopilot. You do not specify if the driver in these acidents overrid the system which is a legal requirement around the world.
Lidar was removed because it requires a predefined map as you said, so its never going to be real time data.
If Its all about money why would tesla sell insurance for a products they know will cost them money?
Any fatal accident is terrible, what this video misses is the satisitcs of how many died in this way becuase of human drivers ?
Tesla has not got full self driving right yet which Is why its not yet available and i do agree auto pilot is a poor naming but it's still down to the driver how to use the driving aids and they must take full responsibility untill full autonomy is legally allowed on the roads.
