You have it completely backwards! UBI is not about printing more money or perpetuating capitalism... it's about counteracting automation! There are more and more people living on this planet everyday yet jobs get scarcer and scarcer due to automation and this process is only accelerating. We cannot keep creating meaningless and more importantly useless jobs to counteract this. There is only two ways to get out of this mess. We can either have everyone working less or have some working fulltime and others not working at all. In both cases missed wages need to be compensated somehow unless you want to live in a Dystopia.
The problem is that the people in charge have nothing to gain by this system. The only way to avoid a dystopian future is to get the 1% to recognize their social responsibility. So long as that mindset is missing nothing will ever change...
