i disagree with the flat earther mostly.... because I asked chat-gpt and leant why the air molecules stays on earth and how very very very very slow it does go away into space too.... but I also disagree with Dan too in certain things. 1. Lying : AI is capable of lying. It doesnt have a bias, but it imagines things when it doesnt know the answer. AI is not thinking perse... it is trying to guess the next best word from all the texts it has learnt... Now if it doesnt have the information which you are talking about, it can straight up lie, because its finding the next best guess than checking whether what it is saying is factual. It doesnt have a bias, it doesnt have any intention of lying, but instead of saying I don't know, it will try it's best to answer. cus its not a mind giving an answer through a chat. its a chatbot, which has tonnes of data and so can chat like humans. 2. scientific consensus : yh scientific consensus is not enough, if you are validating a revolutionary theory. Chat bots as discussed earlier relies on what it learnt and so can tell you all the things it learnt, but it cannot create a radical idea which it hasnt learnt and so will often appeal to authority, aka scientitific consensus. For a Lay-man scientific consensus is enough, because he doesnt want to get into the details, but for a person who is researching, exploring new ideas, scientific consensus is a hurdle. But keep in mind that I am not supporting flat earth, i am disagreeing with him, but also disagreeing with you that scientific consensus is enough.
