We don't make art just for pleasure. Art has always been a transformer of consciousness. I could even say that it awakens consciousness. If art speaks to us, it is because it touches the deepest part of our being. Beauty in art is only the substitute for Meaning. It is by understanding meaning that art is beautiful. But it's true that without beauty, it would be difficult to look at the work in question, but the subject is not there. And I mean, even in terms of beauty, AI is ugly. Period. There's nothing to be gained from it. If artists create works, it is above all to evoke something that can make the viewer react. The artist seeks evocative power, a message, a meaning, a sense, and if possible a meaning that lasts over time, a meaning that will endure through the centuries. A work of art that is considered successful, a masterpiece, is what sheds light on the meaning of life. So it is true that all the other artists who only make art for beauty without looking for meaning (like the vast majority of artists who only make fanart, oc, trends...), they will have a very hard time to last in the years to come. But for the others who really try to find meaning in their art and who truly try to raise awareness, these artists will last for a very long time. An artist, for me, doesn't just make art for the pleasure of others. The world has changedand I recognize that, but making art for art's sake leads nowhere, unfortunately. It's not for nothing that artists are the most feared by governments, high-ranking people, etc. It's because art can really change people's mindsets, cause revolutions, awaken the meaning of life, understand something you hadn't noticed, learn life lessons... Art is MUCH MORE THAN BEAUTIFUL IMAGES, something AI will never be able to do, and what the people behind the algorithms will never understand.
