You asked some difficult questions brother and was not shy to do so. My take is if we don't know what something is and has the ability to lead us to extension, why are we messing with it, however good it might be? Why the Governments are not stepping in? I think there might a greater being behind AI and we have been commanded to keep our mouths shut! Citizens of this planet, we need to wake up! The elites of this world have shown us over and over again that they will always prioritize their pockets than offering us protection!
