They are thinking of this all backwards. 1) its not about the prompts, or complete original beginnings...its about ENDInGS. The true art is where the artist calls it quits and says THIS is it right here. A photographer might take 40 photos and pick THE one, calling it right there. Same with using AI tools and detailed prompts combined with further editing, remixing, and other efforts, will go on forever and ever until the artist calls it quits and says THIS is the thing now. 2) The copyright office is overly concerned with who the artist is except when it's Disney, WB, Then they only care about OWNER. I care about ownership not authorship. As the owner I own it and I don't care if someone believes I'm the author or not. And that's why they are making the wrong argument. They need to recognize our ownership not authorship. The authorship argument is irrelevant. I want my OWNERSHIP. And so far they only recognize big corporations as owners. They need to grant us AI prompt engineers with ownership and stop worrying about authorship so much. It's a work for hire OR I'm the author or both. But it's not none of the above. My role is not of a person walking by and saying "hey do a song like green day singing about chickens". My role is writing my own lyrics, singing and playing the melodies, and extreme detailed input like a producer and song writer. Including song structure. I'm the producer gathering everyone together and telling everyone what to do. Then I'm editing the track like a traditional audio engineer. And making further song adjustments and rewrites until my vision is expressed. Regardless of their excuses. I know I'm the author and more importantly THE OWNER.
