I am a casual artist, self taught, who just likes to work with theor hands. I am coming to this comment in good faith. I draw, 3d model, and am making my own game. My stance is ai is a tool. If you take art and claim it as yours, im against that. But, at least in my case, there are things that just dont exist. Example, my game is an scp game, but in a pixilated style. That, to my knowledge, does not exist anywhere, therefore, no referance for it. That said, im not "tracing" what ai give me, m taking the images and molding them to my style and skill level. Also, another thing that doesnt exist, a steam punk/steam powered protogen. That doesnt exist, so there is no referance anywhere. Also, for my scp game, i can use ai as someone to converse with, and plant seeds in my head for ideas. Again, i am not one for one-ing what ai give, im mixing the seeds with other inspirations and what i want. So, in my case, the idea of, other referances exist, for me, falls flat. I will gladly converse on my points, please feel free to poke holes in my points.
