Copyright law is pretty clear in how it works. You can't claim copyright if someone copies your style or idea, it only copyrights the final works of art. If I were to copy the style of Van Gogh, I would have to make it clear I made it. If I made the claim it was a Van Gogh, that would be fraud. Artist can't make claims for work they didn't create.
If AI were a person that was trained on all artwork and able to produce work as fast as the AI, that would be considered totally legal. And that is how most people view the AI art, its all original works of art. Much like most artists it has trained from other artists. Look on YouTube alone and you will find hundreds of artists offering tutorials so others can learn from them. It's how we all learn.
