so here's my question for quite a few of the commenters. while understanding the greed and politics involved - what's the workable solution? If you're waiting for either party to fix this, it's going to be a long time, because all politicians are owned by someone. Many have mentioned socialism - how would the country transfer to that? How many times has socialism been tried without success? While I understand the greed aspect, how do we decide how much money is enough? If an industry loses workers, they just lower the standards or hire those from other countries to complete the work. Are you comfortable with government deciding what your choices are? Some people are and some are not. Personally, AI scares the hell out of me and should not be driving a vehicle that size.
