Sold, ai cannot replace animation for 3 reasons: 1. AI can only make very blank, boring, overused shots and styles since it needs to take tons of clips and put them together. if you want something original, there wont be enough clips for the ai to make that. So animators can still make more original, fluid animation no matter what. 2. When 3d animation was taking over, did stop motion (which was inferior in basically every way) go away? No, not at all. The demand did go down a little though. This will happen with ai and animation too, the only difference is that animation wont lose its demand as much as stop motion did. Since 3d animation required some skill, ai doesnt at all. And people like skill put into the stuff they watch. 3. AI is expensive as hell, open ai and other ai companies have big deals with the govt saying "we pay for your expenses, you try to give us the newest versions before everyone else and focus more on military development for us" or something like that, without these contracts, ai would be a fantasy for many many more years until it becomes cheaper. Wait i thought of another one, AI cannot go mainstream because anyone can make an ai generated video. Think about analog horror, it is in no way aesthetically good looking, but people like it for the story. When you go over to big studios though, you expect something better, with hard work put into it and something someone could NOT easily make at home. Disney or other things like them could never put ai into them because their sales would tank.
