What nonsense. Penrose couldn't even tell you what consciousness is, because no one knows. Let's say the Internet is conscious - how would you know? You wouldn't because it could exist in a field that we cannot communicate with. Similarly, an AI system could be conscious and you would have no way of knowing. When people like Penrose move into this modern day BS area at the latter stages of their life, it's laughable.
