Reasons I dislike generative AI as an artist before I watch 😅 1. Steals art from artists without consent or pay to feed the machine 2. Creates people who believe that they can replace actual parts of the art process with AI examples: I don't need story boarders or concept artists I have AI, I don't need to hire a writer I have AI, etc. 3. Tied to the last one why would I pay someone for THERE ART for commissions if can just feed there art to the machine 4. Creates new NFT bros both IRL and in comments who believe that making AI art is the same as working an 1hr- infinite time on a finished piece 5. Creates people who ask is _ person credible artist or an AI artist and start going through your work and say blank person didn't draw hands in this MUST BE AI!! 6. AI art flooding competition spaces where real artists have limited spots of entry like galaries and the recent pokemon card competition where upwards of 20 winners were AI sometimes having 6 ai artist win for one pokemon species 7. Similar to NFTS are awful for the environment and depending the site your using as much as producing 1 NFT for 1 generated image or prompt After first watch thru added stuff 8. Replacing voice actors I follow multiple voice actors and singers and while multiple AI voice replicators sound super wrong with how many wierdly good ones are out there with 10s of thousands sometimes millions of views like presidents doing Tierlist both promotes positive associations with those same AI and normalises it in the eyes of the public 10. An ethical AI I agree with Pikat AI is not a tool, a sharpener, a pen, a eraser, a screwdriver these are tools if I want to make a desk I need a screwdriver and powerTOOLS but an AI is liking going to IKEA and buying a desk instead of making one yourself or having someone you know make the desk. It's buying a product for free not making one with time and effort. 11. It's not human here me out on this one it's not the same thing if an AI prints out an image as if you go through blood and sweat and tears making Pinterest boards struggling scraping sketches for hours or days to get a finished product that you might not even be happy with and hey if in 100 years Boston dinamics can make a WALLE or a Star wars level droid that can cry laugh and live a very beautiful and sentient life where they can elect to make art and aren't forced to buy others then I will eat my words on this point but until that day no. 12. AI art=photography yeah Pikats take is just correct AI art and taking a photo are not the same and anyone who has taken a bad photo on there phone can say that if you want your shot to look good you need the proper lense for it be clean, a clear point of the image aka artistic intent am I taking a photo of the person, the moment, the landscape is this picture meant to be sad, angry, happy, nostalgic, a keep sake or memory, is the lighting good, what setting do I want on my camera or what filters do I put on in post processing for my piece etc. 13. Ok my final point I sware I just completely agree with Pikat's take on how much I value every stroke of a pen, every mistake, everyones story, there have been times where single images even ones that look kinda bad in comparison to AI but the story is what sells it for me like when my niece draws something for me I feel such pride in them and seeing them improve in real time and cried when a friend gives me art on my birthday because they took time out of there day to not even buy something but go no I'm going to MAKE you something because I care about you that much. It forms bonds and creates emotion the same way any art or piece of media no matter the form and I would never wish on my worst enemy to risk taking away there job and there ability to connect with others through there work art related or not.
