Like any technological advancement, the result has always been less jobs and job role consolidation for less pay. The primary reason there are less median wage jobs is because most of those jobs have been exported to other nations for the company in the USA to save costs thanks to globalization. This left the bulk of jobs that exist to be low-income jobs in healthcare, retail, warehouse work, hospitality, etc.
AI will just make it so employers won't have to hire as may people at the bottom. The problem why the few decent paying jobs aren't available is because nobody is retiring anymore. This is the first time in human history we have 6 generations alive and 5 of them are working. Since the bulk of company leadership and government (which is a business) is still baby boomers, the result is you have an elder millennial that is 45 years old still stuck working retail or other low-income jobs. No one is getting the experience and worse yet, the lack of connections people are willing to make to help advance people in their career.
